Honestly one of my favorite, new places to come for breakfast. This is a fantastic start to your day. Everything on the menu is really healthy and made with natural ingredients. All egg-breakfast items are made with cage-free eggs and they have tons of different things like a chicken quinoa bowl, avocado, bacon and tomato hash, and an energy bowl with housemade granola, sliced almonds, pecans, Craisins, wheat germ and raisins. They always have fresh ingredients that they use in their recipes like avocado, zucchini, crimini mushrooms, and all-natural white-meat chicken. Some of my recommendations would be the Acapulco Express Omelette or the Caps, etc. I also love that they have different fresh-made juices like their Kale Tonic and Day Glow! Definitely get the Kale Tonic. It's on more of a sweeter side, just right for the morning. Made with kale, Fuji apples, cucumber and lemon.

We were heading out for a 'big day' of errands, so we decided to start it off at First Watch for breakfast. We were some of the first people there, (7am) so getting a table was extremely easy. Over the next 45 minutes, the place began filling up rather quickly. Though getting a seat was easy today, it is not un-common to have to wait, especially on the weekends. On Sundays, it is always crowded with the 'church crowd', so be prepared to wait. The place is extremely clean. The waiting area, seating areas and bathrooms were pretty spotless. The menu gives you plenty of options that you would see at other chain breakfast places,. Though they have the basics, pancakes, waffles, omelets, bacon, sausage, ham...etc, they also have a good amount of 'healthier' options. Some of the healthier options include egg white omelets, turkey wraps, oatmeal, fresh fruit and quinoa bowls. I find the food here to be cooked extremely well. Not sure why it tastes better here than other places, but it does and it is the main reason I keep coming back. It is fantastic. The service here is always friendly, fast and efficient. The servers come by often enough to ensure all is well, but it is not overdone. They leave a coffee pot on the table which is helpful early in the morning. This is a definite breakfast stop for me.

OK, I must admit that from its location in an upscale strip mall in the middle WV coal country, my expectations were not heightened. Could the numerous prior reviews be believed? My BW and I were astounded by this hidden gem. It blends into the surroundings of the other modern storefronts to the extent that I drove past it once in my search. Families gathering out front signaled its popularity. The people gathering at about 10AM on a Sunday morning was just beginning to build. The first surprise was adding our name to the wait list. Give them your cell # and via text they'll confirm your status and then alert you when your table is ready. You can browse in the adjacent shops while you're waiting. Pretty nifty. We were seated within 10 minutes. A carafe of fresh coffee was placed at our table quickly after we sat down. A nice touch. The menu contained many appealing, creative choices. I selected the Tri-fecta, and egg and waffle combo with a side of bacon or sausage. My BW ordered the more traditional 2 eggs, home fries and toast. What arrived was beautifully presented and, more importantly, delicious. In addition to syrup, a blueberry compote was also provided to embellish the waffle. The waffle was light, tasty and had the exterior crunch of one just off the griddle. I'd order the waffles again just for the compote! I snuck a couple of my BW's home fries since, to me, it's the quality of the HFs that determines if I'd come back. The HFs were delicately seasoned and freshly prepared. The First Watch didn't miss a beat from the service, the choices, the presentation and the quality of the food. If I'm passing this way again, I'll be back.

This place is ALWAYS busy! We visited last Thursday morning around 11am and when we left, there was a line! On a Thursday! I had the butternut squash soup and the chicken palerma sandwich. The butternut squash soup was really good, it had a somewhat sweet and cinnamony flavor. My dad described it as pumpkin pie spice. I really enjoyed it, but it could have been a bit hotter. The sandwich had the potential to be awesome but the ciabatta bread was VERY thick and VERY tough. It was actually difficult to bit into. I'm not sure if it was just old or what, but I'll order it on a different bread next time. The sandwich came with dressed greens, just mixed greens with a balsamic vinagrette dressing. It was very good, but I missed the tomato cucumber salad they used to have. They may still offer it, I didn't ask. It was a shame about the bread because I really enjoyed the chicken and the pesto sauce. But I digress. My dad ordered the market hash skillet. It was beautiful! It was loaded with mushrooms and red peppers. The eggs were perfectly cooked. He really enjoyed the skillet. It came with a side of fruit that looked very good as well. Each table gets their own pot of coffee if they want it, but it looks as though it may be time to replace the pots that they use at the tables. I noticed when our waitress tried to pour a cup of coffee at another table that more coffee went on the floor than in the cup. I had the same problem with the hot tea not pouring evenly (same type of container). Service was friendly, but I was a little disappointed that noone ever asked if I needed more hot water for tea. Also, the tea that they leave on the tables has one bag of each type. So if you make two cups, be prepared to try a new kind of tea lol! All in all, a great breakfast place in the north. We will return

Ho hum....an a overpriced underwhelming chain. I would just assume whip up some bacon and eggs at home

I met some friends here on a Saturday morning, just before the rush. Within 5 minutes of being seated, the place was packed with people waiting for a table. Hopefully this was a good sign. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Chickichanga that I found very satisfying. And despite the crowd of people waiting for a table, I never felt like we were rushed. One thing that really made this dining experience stand out was the fact that our waitress gave us drink refills to go. It was one of those unexpected nice touches that you don't always get. And it means I'll be returning.

Um wow. I could sure use a First Watch closer to where I live. I had never heard of this chain before, but apparently they've got over 100 locations up and down the East coast! Learn something new every day. I regretted not checking in on the no wait app, I missed the memo on that when scanning the yelp reviews as I always do before going someplace new. So if you're reading this: DOWNLOAD THAT APP. This place gets busy, especially on weekends. Our wait wasn't bad, but NoWait would have been better. Ha. See what I did there? The reason for the full house can be pegged down to one thing. The food. The food is simply fantastic. Much of the menu is geared more towards the organic, healthy trend that is becoming increasingly popular. There were no pastries or pies, sides of toast don't automatically accompany every dish, and they have TURKEY sausage biscuits with gravy. And that, in my book, is a very good thing, especially when you find a restaurant that makes healthy food so delicious that you don't even notice that this isn't your average breakfast joint. Trust me, you won't miss being asked what kind of toast you want. Everything we had was top notch. I especially would recommend the Chicken Palermo sandwich, it was fantastic. Service was very good, and the whole restaurant is very nicely decorated. The food was all very reasonably priced as well. It was refeshing to see that healthy doesnt have to be expensive. If I could pick at any flaw, it would be that the front of the restaurant is very crowded. With people waiting to get a table, paying, getting up to get seated by the hostess, putting their names in, and coming in and going out, it's just way too tiny of a space. We actually got skipped over when we first came in because there were so many people we couldn't get to the hostess. She got a few people on the list who came in after us because they managed to slither in and get to her while we were trying not to get stepped on and were pushed into a corner by a big group swarming the cash register. I hate paying up front anyways, and in this case, it's just impractical for the size of the restaurant. If they were to eliminate that, it would get rid of much of the congestion. Other than the first few hectic moments, we had a great experience, and will definitely be back next time we're in the area. I hope that we'll see more of these restaurants in the Pittsburgh area in the future. This is one chain restaurant I definitely would like to see more of.

This is definitely a nice place to go for brunch with friends or family. One step up from a Denny's or iHop. Located in a nice plaza with good shopping, they have a nice variety of meals with many interesting and healthy combinations. Servers were nice although they did not clear empty plates and drinks off the table before we ate so it was a little cramped. They make a "kale and tonic" drink that is very tasty and nutritious! I would definitely go back to try more meals next time I'm in Pittsburgh!

First thing's first, if you're not using the NoWait app to get in here, you should. Or go super early, or sometime in that magic post-rush hour, whenever that may be. Otherwise, be prepared for a wait. Secondly, I'm a big fan of establishments that focus on breakfast and lunch, as annoyed as I am when I'm in the mood for a waffle after 3 o'clock in the afternoon and those types of places are closed. So anyway, good on FirstWatch for showing up in Cranberry and giving another alternative to Denny's, Bob Evans, Eat 'n' Park, and Perkins, especially in that north-of-228/Freedom Rd. territory. Firstwatch is always clean and the staff are mostly friendly. I say "mostly" because sometimes service can be hit-or-miss. It's usually prompt, but there have been a few occasions where I felt like my server wasn't being rude, but not exactly friendly either. Granted, it's not an easy gig to do, let alone during a busy time, so I've never let it really bog down my experience. One thing I have noticed is that the portions seem a bit smaller than, say, one of the aforementioned comparable chain restaurants, but the prices are on par. Then again, I feel like an ugly American for even pointing that out; we tend to value quantity over quality, and the quality is just fine. And it's not exactly like I've ever left here hungry, either. All in all, this is quickly becoming one of my solid go-to spots for brunch, especially after tying one on the night before.

My mom and I came at noon on a Saturday and had a 30 minute wait, but it was absolutely worth it! We tried the carrot-orange-ginger and the watermelon-cucumber-beet juices and they were both delicious. We ordered two omelets and they both were great. Even the side of fresh fruit and seasoned potatoes were perfect. We also enjoyed having a carafe of coffee brought to our table as soon as we sat down. If we drive past Cranberry in the future we will absolutely be stopping again.

When First Watch opened I thought it was good. The last two times I ate there they didn't give you as much food and the quality of the food was lacking. I always loved their chicken salad melt that came with that yummy salad with tomatoes and a poppy seed dressing and home fries. Well, they did away with that salad. Now you get greens. And I mean some lettuce with a funky dressing on it and that's it. What....am I a rabbit! And no more potatoes with it either! Did they lower the price? Nope! The breakfast of eggs over easy with sausage and home fries was nothing special. You did get the potatoes but they were not the fresh cut, large cubed with the skins on that were fried and so good. These looked like a bag of frozen potatoes! For $30 for two people to eat it is not worth it!

Vegetable omelette was very good. Breakfast potatoes were alittle bland. Great place to grab breakfast and I like using the no wait app to get a table.

Always my top choice ( and only) for breakfast .....love their Tri Athlete for an healthy option,,, it is the lowest WW point values time on the menu! Love that they don't mind if girlfriends linger over coffee, which we do a lot,,, great lunch menu as well Service is great or they will make it great.... Always go,here when we are in Florida too!

The absolute best. It doesn't matter what you order, it's fabulous. Always consistently clean, great service, very reasonably priced considering the total experience and value they deliver on and off the plate. Best in class and our first choice for breakfast and lunch.

First of all, I'm a server so what I am saying is only from experience. Every time we come into first watch it is just a below average experience. Something is always wrong. I don't particularly like to complain, because I'm in the industry, but today was just awful. Everything was OK until we got our food. My boyfriend ate all his food then got to his pancake where he realized it wasn't like it normally was. He had ordered a plain pancake, like he usually does, but received a pancake with, what looked like, sunflower seeds in it. Fine, OK. He was going to just eat it anyways, but I wanted to make sure he made a point to say something. So, at the very least our server knew of her mistake. Well. She comes to our table and he tells her about the problem and she immediately disagrees with him. She said "Well, no. We don't put sunflower seeds in our pancakes!" Then grabs, doesn't ask, his plate and runs back to the kitchen. So she eventually comes back and says that it was from the multigrain batter that they use and a seed wasn't ground up (no, there were multiple seeds). Then proceeds to tell us they're making him an entire new meal. We didn't ask for a new meal or even want a new meal. Nice gesture, sure. But, it really irked us that she didn't even ask what WE wanted. We were simply telling her of the mistake and she completely blew it out of proportion. Then we had to wait for a meal we didn't even want. We are pretty simple people. If she would've just asked, do you still want the pancake or do you want a new one, I wouldn't be writing this right now. Despite the poor service, we still left her a 20% tip. But I can say right now we will not be returning to First Watch.

My first experience at First Watch was "meh". The restaurant is fresh, clean and friendly. My particular waitress was pleasant if not exactly friendly. I was looking forward to the crepelet (sp?) and it was interesting and even tasty, but very overcooked and the English muffin was stale. The salsa that comes in a little ramekin was really good, but the sad cubes of potatoes that came with were mediocre at best. Overall, the meal I ate had no love at all. I'll give FW another try (chefs have off days too), but one more meal by a disaffected chef and I'm out.

  • Wendie M.

Great place. Go after 9am for little to no wait. Have never had a bad meal there. It's not inexpensive, but it is high quality, and people continue to say "you get what you pay for" because it's TRUE! People looking for vegan and gluten free options will have plenty of choices.

    (5)
  • Malcolm M.

I like this place for its food and fast service. What I don't like is the way the server keeps insisting on their idea of what and how much you want. They pester you into ordering more food than you like. One more thing. In my humble opinion the food is a healthier alternative to most other restaurants.

    (4)
  • Michael P.

I wanted to like this place more, mostly because the menu is solid and diverse, but I just can't do it. I ordered a turkey burger, which is usually an exercise in masochism. They're almost always dry, which is why you see them covered with cheese, avocado, mayo, et al. This particular version was covered with their house salsa, which I thought might be interesting. It wasn't. The salsa is fine. It's not good, it's not bad, it merely IS. If you're going to make my bun soggy with salsa it better be bursting with flavor and taste at least reasonably fresh. Dumping a can of your franchise's version of Pace on an over-cooked turkey patty isn't really reaching for the stars. I'll go back again because it was clean and friendly and the menu looked like it had some good choices, but I'm not going to do so because some deep gastronomic force compels me. I'll do it because I'm in the mood for an omelette and I'm on that side of town.

This is my families go to place for breakfast. We have been going here for years. The staff is friendly, the food is fresh, and the service is fast. I have never had a bad experience at First Watch. I have recommend this place to everyone I know and got them hooked on it as well. Only "complaint" I have is the long wait time on the weekends and the lack of room to wait. While the wait is normally 20 minutes, today it was 45 minutes. There was no where to stand and had to walk around the shopping area outside while we waited. It was nice out, but would have rather stayed there.

    (5)
  • Samantha S.

My favorite go to for a fresh and quality breakfast or lunch. They always do their best to customize your meal if needed and everything is always fresh! Only downside is the wait times on the weekends but I highly suggest the "no wait" app. You can check in at home and make your way there!

Really liked this place at first, menu was diverse with lots of choices. I've been 4 times and the food is only okay. Went with different friends who wanted to try out so I kept going. What us nice us they don't mind if you hang out to visit with friends. I think lunch is better than Breakfast.

My daughter loves coming here for pancakes. Every time we go out in the morning, she asks if we can go to the pancake place. She devours them, so that alone would give First Watch five stars in my book. There is a good variety of food here, and it is nice having a true variety for breakfast or brunch. Their pancakes are HUGE and you get a decent stack. I enjoy that you have the option to order maple syrup versus table syrup as well. There is an additional charge but it is worth it. My only disappointment here has been the French toast. It came out looking like limp half cooked bread. I am not completely sold on the healthy aspect of First Watch as the ones I have been to in Florida proudly display their boxed mixes on the wall. I really do not associate healthy with boxed pancakes. Still, the pancakes are good. Try the seasonal specials! Right now, they have lemon ricotta pancakes on the menu that are heavenly. A little lemon curd and no syrup needed. The staff here is very friendly, and we usually get excellent service. There is usually a daily wait- anywhere from 5-45 minutes. I use the no-wait app, so I get in line while on my way. I have walked in a couple times only to be seated ahead of those already in the restaurant. It is a great app, and for a place as busy as First Watch, it is a must have!

Diner breakfast elevated -- with a broad menu and inventive dishes (4 different kinds of hash! Multigrain pancakes with awesome toppings and mix-ins) and friendly service. Way better than the chain options in the neighborhood.

Every time we come to Pittsburgh, we cant wait to have breakfast at First Watch. The food is fresh and tasty. The omelettes are great and my wife's favorite breakfast is the Banana Granola pancake. It is large and she thinks it is the best breakfast anywhere. We will come again and again.

Awesome. We don't do breakfast too often so this was a special occasion for us. Didn't dissapoint. Wife had Florida French Toast and I had the Banana Granola Crunch Pancakes. Both were great. Service was very friendly, too.

First Watch seems as if they like to push the healthy breakfast card but they come nowhere close to it. We stopped around 11 am one morning. The place was steady, and we were helped immediately. Their menu has soups, salads, breakfast, and a few sides to pick from. They have a daily special menu as well. I went on their site to see which meal packed the least bit of calories. Nothing at this place in meal form seems to come close to 600 calories. Unless you are eating a fruit cup here nothing is healthy. Eat n Park even has meals under 600 calories. I got the kale, chicken, quinoa power bowl. This thing came in at 700 calories and there was only about a cup of food served. It was good but not good enough to go back and get. The service was ok. They had a ton of smiling faces waiting by the door to help. Our waitress seemed more interested in helping a fellow waitress who was there on her day off than helping us.

    (2)

Nice and clean! Staff was friendly, but my breakfast was gross. Breakfast potatoes were bland and old. The omelet was under cooked veggies were raw and lots of water in omelet. Not a fan now

Went to this place around 9am on a Thursday. It was not busy inside, and we were taken to a table. Despite the fact that several servers came past our table, no one stopped to even ask about drinks. Women who came in right before us were given coffee and orders were taken before anyone came to our table. Several servers stopped to talk to a patron near us who had clearly mentioned that no one had come by to our table. After 10 minutes without service, we left. I have never left a restaurant before, but it was incomprehensible that no one stopped to our table in that time. I've been here before, and have enjoyed the food, but the service is deplorable.

Love this place, healthy options are rare in the burgh, as evidenced by the size 24 women who seem to make up the vast majority there. This place made me feel like I was home in California.

Staying in Cranberry for a few days and found this cafe for a wonderful breakfast. Service was quick and friendly. Both breakfasts were will prepared and very good. Very nice portions with a carafe of coffee to keep my cup full. Totally recommend this place for any morning pit stop.

I went here with my family for a post-half-marathon brunch. The pancakes were AMAZING. They have all different kinds (blueberry, chocolate chip, wheat germ, banana nut, etc.) but honestly, they are so good, they don't need any dressing-up. The plain ones with just a little syrup are fantastic. It's a classic for a reason. :) The service was quite good too. It was packed by the time we showed up and the line was out the door- AND we had a pretty large group- but we got seated within 20 minutes, and were waited on almost immediately. The hostess and waitress we had were nice as could be, so I have no complaints here. I don't remember what everyone else ordered, but they all thought their food was great.

Found First Watch on Yelp and decided to try something new for breakfast. My husband and I showed up around 10:45 and there was a 25-30 minute wait with a ton of people outside. We assumed that the place would be amazing with the reviews and the long line but unfortunately we were quite disappointed. By the time we sat down it was about `11:20 and we didn't get our food until about 11:50. The menu looks good and some menu items are highlighted in green so indicate that they are favorites. Both my husband and I ordered favorites but I would have to say that they were not great. I was pretty hungry after the long wait and ordered the homemade soup (which was recommended by the waitress) and the Chickichanga - chicken and eggs with Mexican stuffing in a tortilla. After about 10 minutes of not getting any food, I asked when my soup was coming out and the waitress said she didn't know that I wanted it first. I asked her to cancel the soup order since my breakfast was going to be coming out. When I received my breakfast, it was nothing very memorable. My husband ordered the parma hash which comes with two eggs on seasoned potatoes, Italian sausage, crimini mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with melted parmesan, mozzarella and fresh herbs. Sounds good, right? Well it was nothing special, it was fairly bland and quite small. It came with an English muffin and a small side of fruit. I wouldn't go back.

First Watch promotes their business along the lines of health conscious and freshness. They definitely meet the standards along those regards. Ambiance gives off a casual, cafe atmosphere; service is casual and adequate; food is small-portioned but fresh and seemingly 'healthy'. The menu offers a wide selection of breakfast and lunch items. Breakfast options include your traditional egg/meat/potatoes plates, crepes, skillet hashes, pancakes/waffles/french toast, omelettes -- pretty much your standard fare. Some different options like mushroom caps, breakfast burritos, frittatas. Coffee is under the brand of Sunrise Select; it's decent, though a tad expensive so you should drink more than a few cups to feel better about the hands in your wallet. I had the special of the day, Ham Hash: two eggs on top of a hash of potatoes, ham, mushrooms, and onions along with melted cheese. You can taste each ingredient within every bite. The mushrooms standout as they are roasted Crimini. I also had a bite of the Parma sausage hash and they use real sausage, not your cheap cafeteria style imitation (check out Clarke's in Evanston, IL for reference). Every plate comes with a small cup of fresh fruit. Nothing incredible but a point of emphasis for marketing 'healthy' options. Pricing is fair, around $8/plate plus $2+ coffee. Once you include tip and tax, $10-15 on average.

This is a great place! I took a few clients out to lunch yesterday and frankly, I would have been satisfied with not Primanti Bros. This very respectful customer had a place all picked out and he even had a coupon for his birthday - this was very much appreciated as he knows I have a rich expense account. We were promptly seated in a sunny corner table and were immediately offered coffee (diner style - read - turn over your cup) or juice. Like Julie D., I can eat breakfast as any meal of the day but sadly, my days of doing so at 2 AM are over, so the fact that this place is only open until 2:30 PM is fine by me. The menu was a pleasant surprise. Here you can find omelets with interesting ingredients, one of my clients had the Bacado. It looked fluffy and yummy. I had the Floridian French toast - sourdough bread, covered with fresh bananas, kiwi and berries. What made this special was the wheat germ - which served to give it oomph by adding texture without extra calories. When I get back, I would love to try the Crepeggs - I love that they have crepes. I wish they had some sweet ones with cream and fruit but you will only find savory ones on this menu. My dining companions told me that most of the staff are college students who can work there specifically because of the limited hours. Our server was very competent and pleasant. With BOGO birthday coupon, the bill for three was around $32. I will absolutely go back and I wish there was one on this side of the state.

First Watch is a great breakfast place that has a surprising amount of quality and class for its prices. The service is usually quite good, though there is sometimes a short wait to get a table. First Watch also has great food and the decor of the place feels warm and clean. The limited hours are a bit of a downer, I wish they were open an hour or so earlier than they are. Overall, I strongly suggest that people in the area try First Watch.

This is my favorite breakfast place. The service has been great everytime I've been there, and I love the food. I like how they give free coffee while you are waiting to be seated. The menu gives the customer a variety of healthy options, too, which doesn't happen enough in chain restaurants. My favorite part of the menu is the variety of pancakes they offer, like banana and cranberry nut. I've only had one item that I didn't like, and my waitress took it off of the tab and offered me a different item. I would definitely recommend First Watch in Cranberry to anyone!

Cute little place, really stupid hours, open 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, seven days a week. Some of my most memorable breakfasts have been enjoyed at 2:00 am, so that clearly leaves this place out. Good service is my favorite part of eating out and we did not have it here. I suspect that our prissy little server has been forced by her tyrannical parents to get a job to earn her own spending money for Europe later this summer and she is not happy about it. Or maybe she is just in fear of breaking a nail or just unhappy to have to get up before noon or missing her tanning time. I don't know. But I got orange juice instead of apple. She had to be asked to wipe our dirty table, wasn't cleaned off from the last customers. Plus, she seemed to have a hard time finding carry out containers when we weren't able to clean our plates! And also, the table next door all got chocolate muffins when they ordered no muffins at all! We had an Acapulco Express omelet and a Sensational Skillet with avocado, tomato and bacon. Their potatoes are good and who doesn't love a nicely toasted English muffin? Plus, I like any restaurant that serves you a fresh fruit cup! I'll probably go back, and hope I get a good server! I would definately add another star for that.

I've only been here for breakfast but it's really great. I love that it's a fairly fast sit down breakfast option for the Cranberry area but feels and tastes healthy! I've never had a bad meal here. My only complaint is that portion size is on the small side. I always clean my plate and feel like a little more would have been perfect.

Wonderful breakfast place. Healthy options and appropriately sized proportions of food. Had a little trouble finding this place with google maps but came back to yelp and used it to find it with no problem. I'd highly recommend it to others and wish there was one in metro Detroit. The service was prompt, fast and courteous.
